Lula studied Early Musical Instrument Making at the London College of Furniture, now part of London Metropolitan University. Her teachers included renowned makers such as Alison Greenspan and Nigel Cook. When she left College she embarked on a journeyman voyage through Europe for research in museums and working in a number of famous luthiers' workshops. In 1995 she established her own workshop and has completed commissions for professional as well as amateur players. Lula is an avid player of the lute and vihuela, and has studied Music with the late Michal Spencer and Diana Poulton.
Lula is happy to discuss commissions for lutes, early guitars and vihuelas. Each instrument is hand crafted and individually fitted to the player's requirements. References can be provided on request.
